About the Performance

Premiered: Theater Artaud, San Francisco, CA

Inspired by Chinese participation in American history, Transparent Hinges was created as a positive remembrance of a shared history. Transparent Hinges gives poetic voice to Chinese immigrants and laborers, and honors the many individuals, in particular the elders, in their dramatic struggle to weave together two cultures in order to become Chinese Americans.
