Chen Dance Center has always been rooted in providing a home for the moving arts. As we navigate our own transition, we are thrilled to open our 2,700 square foot First Street space to the NYC dance community. Whether you are an independent artist, a choreographer developing a new work, or a dance company in need of a professional home, our doors are open.

Designed specifically to support the creative process, this versatile rehearsal space is available for booking at accessible rates. Come move with us on First Street and let our space nurture your next project.

About the Studio

Our spacious, 2,700-square-foot facility offers an optimal environment for rehearsals, workshops, and creative exploration:

Layout: A fully open, column-free floor plan.

Amenities: One full wall of mirrors, two restrooms, and AV equipment available for use.

Climate Control: Fully equipped with heating, air conditioning, and air filtration.

Booking Details

Hours: 10:00 AM – 6:00 PM daily (subject to holidays and staffing availability).

Unsubsidized Rate: $10-18/hour.

Subsidized Rate: $10/hour. When grant support becomes available. Excludes full day bookings or dance intensives.

Policies: Booking requests are processed on a first-come, first-served basis. This space is not appropriate for children or family-oriented activities. Chen Dance Center staff will be on-site during all studio hours. Detail instructions will be provided once booking is confirmed. No walk-ins will be accepted.
