Celebrating Dr. Patricia A. Rowe

H.T. Chen & Dancers will be performing at Celebrating Dr. Patricia A. Rowe, a tribute to the life and contributions of Patricia A. Rowe (1924-2010) and her enduring impact on dance and dance education. Dr. Rowe was an innovating force in the dance field for 50 years, and is known best as the chairperson of NYU Dance and Dance Education, which she founded in 1970. She was instrumental in the 20-year effort to achieve dance certification for K-12 in the State of New York and in fostering dance degrees in undergraduate and graduate majors across the spectrum of dance. She also served as founding member and president of The Congress on Research in Dance and as chair of CORD’s editorial board, editing its annual publications from 1970 through 1986.
